We're thrilled to welcome Holly Jackson to Bristol on Thursday 9th May, in partnership with Crimefest.

We'll be discussing her new young adult crime novel, The Reappearance of Rachel Price and her best-selling series A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, which is soon to come to the BBC. Shot partly in Bristol, including at Redmaids' High School, it seemed only fitting to host this very special event with Holly at the school.

The evening will be hosted by author and journalist, Charlotte Philby.

ABOUT HOLLY JACKSON
Holly Jackson is the author of the bestselling series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, an international sensation with millions of copies sold worldwide which is soon to become a BBC television series filmed partly in Bristol. In 2023 Holly released a standalone novel, Five Survive, became the biggest selling female crime writer in the UK for the year and won 'BookTok Author of the Year' at the 2023 TikTok Book Awards. Her new novel, The Reappearance of Rachel Price, is released on April 2nd.

Holly graduated from the University of Nottingham, where she studied literary linguistics and creative writing, with a master’s degree in English. She enjoys playing video games and watching true-crime documentaries so she can pretend to be a detective. She lives in London.

ABOUT CHARLOTTE PHILBY
Charlotte Philby is the author of four novels, including Edith and Kim, which was a best book of 2022 in The Times, the Sunday Times, New Statesman, Literary Review, and more. Her fifth novel a literary suspense entitled, The End Of Summer, will be published by The Borough Press in June 2024, and Dirty Money, the first in her new crime series for Baskerville will follow in Spring 2025.

Prior to her first book, Charlotte worked as an editor, reporter and columnist at The Independent for eight years, and was shortlisted for the 2013 Cudlipp prize at the Press Awards. She has also worked as a contributing editor at Marie Claire, and written freelance for publications including New Statesman, Tatler, Guardian, Telegraph, Sunday Times, ELLE, and Red.
